Lithia Springs, GA – Rollover Accident on GA-402 Before Thornton Rd
Lithia Springs, GA (November 29, 2021) – At 6:26 a.m. on the morning of Monday, November 29, a rollover accident occurred in Lithia Springs.
According to Douglas County officials, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of GA-402 around the area of Thornton Road. Several vehicles were traveling on the highway in the area when one or more lost control, causing them to collide with one another. One of the vehicles was overturned, which led to extensive damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The victims were hospitalized but their identities and conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time. Police urged those in the area to use Highway 78 as an alternate route.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
