Hinesville, GA – Two Hospitalized in School Bus Crash on Airport Rd
Hinesville, GA (November 19, 2021) – On Friday morning, November 19, a school bus accident occurred at an intersection in Hinesville, sending multiple people to the hospital.
A wreck involving two Liberty County school buses and a utility truck resulted in the hospitalization of two drivers.
Georgia State Patrol says the incident happened just before 8:30 a.m. on Airport Road in Hinesville. They also say there were no children on the bus at the time of the wreck.
GSP says the utility truck was driving on the wrong side of the road when it sideswiped one bus, causing it to hit the second bus head-on.
The utility vehicle burst into flames, leaving the driver with burns. That driver was airlifted to the Augusta Burn Center for burn injuries, though his condition is unknown.
The driver of the bus hit head-on was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
