Athens, GA – Pedestrian Injured After Falling from Vehicle on Sanford Dr

Athens, GA (November 22, 2021) – At 2:01 p.m. on the afternoon of Saturday, November 20, a pedestrian accident occurred on a roadway in Athens.

According to the University of Georgia Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of Sanford Drive and Cedar Street. A pickup truck was traveling in the area when a pedestrian suddenly fell out of the back of the bed due to reasons that are not yet known. The accident led to extensive damages.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified but was visiting the college, was injured in the accident. The party struck their head and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Their current condition is not yet known.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time.
