Athens, GA – Car Crash with Injuries at E Campus Rd & Carlton St
Athens, GA (October 14, 2021) – At 6:54 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday, October 12, a car crash with injuries occurred in Athens.
According to the University of Georgia Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of East Campus Road and Carlton Street. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, colliding with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One driver was injured in the collision. The injured party was taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries, though their condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
