Americus, GA – Car Crash at US-19 & S Georgia Tech Pkwy
Americus, GA (September 13, 2021) – Around 9 a.m. on Monday morning, September 13, a car crash with injuries occurred at an intersection in Americus.
According to Sumter County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of US-19 and South Georgia Tech Parkway. A pickup truck and a sedan were traveling in the area when they collided with one another. The four-door sedan was trapped against a guardrail by the pickup truck. This led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene. The driver of the sedan had to be extricated by fire crews. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time until police were able to clear the scene.
Georgia State Patrol officials continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
